ExEd24 En Plein Air
The “En Plein Air” Taster Workshop offered a unique blend of art and nature to enhance environmental awareness and social justice. The session began with an introduction to the “En Plein Air” method, emphasizing its educational significance, followed by a guided outdoor drawing activity that deepened participants’ connection to the environment through artistic expression.
After the drawing session, a reflection period allowed participants to share their experiences and insights on integrating these methods into their teaching. Discussions focus on the potential impacts of embedding social justice and environmental consciousness in academic curricula.
Key outcomes include improved observational skills, enhanced creativity, heightened awareness of social and environmental issues, and encouragement of collaborative learning across disciplines. The workshop is designed to inspire educators to adopt experiential learning, fostering a more engaged and proactive academic community.
